I guess I pissed some people off, i made my self sound like a classist douche bag, and a racist.
I assure that’s not true and I would again like to say sorry to the good people of OPPO.
Such is the danger venting anger on the internet.

No big deal man,
It’s just not a good habit to go around saying that kind of thing. Just learn from it, and move on!

I just saw that post. It’s okay. Looking at the comments, I was surprised people were taking such offense. I say that things are ghetto all the time, and so do most of the people around me.

Blame it on the fact you’re from Racine.
Speaking as a Jew who grew up in DC and now lives in Madison: white people in Wisconsin often don’t know how the fuck to have a normal conversation with and/or about people of any other background.
Even though I’m a white person, the reactions I get when I tell whitebread-ass Wisconsin people I’m Jewish are:
“You’re the first Jew I’ve met.” (They’re 35)
“So does that mean you don’t eat pork?”
They use the phrase “I got Jewed” in my presence after knowing I’m Jewish, and then don’t understand how I might not appreciate that phrase.
And that’s just for my East coast Jewish self. Understanding people who are an actual other race? Ha!

Same, I didn’t think people would take offense to that, but this is the internet!

I bet you call black people “thugs” and wonder why they take offense, too.

I see that...unfortunately

Read the applicable post. It is interesting, from an outside point of view, how slender the line is between describing a persons traits (physical) and attributes (behavioral). Often times it is easy to choose a slightly incorrect adjective, which results in varied interpretations. I understood what you
meant,
but I believe it could have been said more carefully.

Lotta people on the internet. Whole lotta people out there.

I just assumed you’re from the “good side” of Racine. Which is like saying you live in the “good part” of a medical waste dumpster.

Speaking as another Jew in WI. I get this often. I dislike it quite a bit.

Being a magnet student I completely understand where you’re coming from. There are people at my school who really like messing things up ( http://www.wral.com/senior-prank-l… ) but really they can’t be blamed, unfourtunatly we live in a society of oppression.
I don’t know how strong the barriers are between the two populations at your school but try to reach out to them. The more you alienate them as the “other” the harder it is for ya’ll to get along. I won’t try and say that I’m kosher and legitimatly see through race and class, these things are deeply rooted in our society wether we want to admit to them or not and will take a long time to be amended. But the first step is actually trying to erase the barrier. It’s easier in a school setting because we’re all still kids (yes, we’re kids until we graduate from College and then some of us are still) and we have brains that are still open to new concepts.

The good side of Racine are the suburbs, which is where I live...though I did live near the lake for like 10 years and that was a pretty nice place to grow up
